‘Korrugated Kritters’ is a series of interactive children’s objects, which focus on developing a child’s basic movement skills without undermining their ever-growing imagination and natural curiosity. This series of objects also questions how children should process their surroundings and promotes learning through play.
The series is a reflection on mainstream toys both manufacture and choice of material. Toys are the tools that children use to learn, and the ‘Korrugated Kritters’ series challenges what a toy should be and made of. ‘Herbert’, ‘Henrietta’ and ‘Felicity’ are all made from cardboard, environmentally sourced and recyclable, which is a direct response to the ‘throw away’ connotations plastic used in mainstream toy manufacture has.
The ‘Korrugated Kritters’ are not just toys, but objects with multiple uses, as storage, chairs, spaceships, boats or even a monster…. it all depends on the users imagination.
