This is a diverse and challenging course. We regard Ceramics as a discipline that provides a unique opportunity for the individual to challenge personal preconceptions and ideas, within the context of ceramic materials and processes. The study of Ceramics at Camberwell has a history of placing studio practice and a consideration of its place within the wider contemporary visual culture as key issues. The work within this exhibition demonstrates this and reflects both the tradition of the medium and concerns of contemporary studio practice, which is undergoing something of a renaissance. Graduates from the course, over a long period of time have become established, influential studio practitioners, as well as developing careers in professional design practices and various areas of education.
