My intention is to make objects that seem as if they have a purpose whether that is to perform a task or is to represent something living. They are made so that they have a balance between a deformed bottle, an animal, a sex toy and a medical implement. They don’t necessarily look like one in particular but are an amalgamation. There is no correct way of reading what the objects are. It is left to the viewer to interpret each piece.

Scale plays an important part in my work as an indicator to how the work is supposed to be approached by an audience. I focus on making work that can either be handled in one or both hands. I encourage people to handle my work as a further means of them deciphering a meaning from them. The almost toy scale of the work is designed to give both an intimate and comical feel to the work. I want them to be objects of investigation and curiosity. They are not meant to be read formally. They are a conundrum.
