A string quintet plays Beethoven’s String Quintet in C Major, Op. 29. The sound of the music is removed, leaving only the breathing and some incidental sounds.

A recording is made of a piece of music played on a cello. The cello is fitted with transducers, which transmit the recording from the amplifier and turn the instrument into a speaker; the instrument plays its own sound through itself.
