I make work using unsophisticated media that explores the relationship between people and their environment. Ideas around the human construction of the environment and, in turn, being constructed by it are relevant in ‘The Curious Gaze’, which seeks connections between the visible and invisible. These sculptures explore this aspect of human nature. They are at once unique individuals while being part of a mass: different but full of similarities. The focus is on human experience and emotion: trapped and controlled, but protected and secure.
