The work I have produced explores the contrast between, smooth and rough, gloss and Matt, surfaces. To examine a dialogue created by entropy, expressed through thick usages of paint bellowing over and off the edges of neatly painted canvases exposing the physicality of paint. I incorporate ideas of Jonathan Lasker and address the notion of the non-object, that a painting concerns itself with the disposition of representational art, to create a pure abstraction that intends to act on the reality of itself and not impose an imitation of truth.
