Informed by contemporary technology and the artwork as an object since conceptualism; my work explodes from a single point, from which all that forms the object is created. It is my aim to create works of art which are wholly constituted of the method of their creation and display, each piece should be entirely self–contained, and conscious of its own existence as an art work.
Inspired by the writings of Pierre Lévy, my works exist not only as paintings or objects in the real world, but simultaneously, as virtual, pure, representations. The work is forced, through its durational nature from a static image and is transformed into a microscopic surface of constantly moving and shifting atoms. These works attempt to virtualize an impure surface in order to achieve purity; it is however in this purity that one encounters an inevitable contradiction, since an accurate virtual visual representation cannot ever be experienced.
