This work explores the interdependent relationship between photographer and subject. Barthes maintained that a photograph is irrevocably linked to the object being photographed while a painting, for example, could solely be an artist’s construct and thereby always reflects the artist. In this construct a mutually referential relationship is explored and the friendship or co-dependence between me and photography is played out.
