The body of work on display in the exhibition is selected of work created during the 3rd year. These works are routed in early studio video art experimentation, its aesthetic has not become redundant and for me working with this in mind is not only a form of nostalgia, but a direct analysis of process and qualities possible with video.
I’m interested in the stuff that moving image is made off, the pixel, the signal, the display and uncovering what happens when its turned in on it’s self. This body of work is self referential, appropriating itself and the technology used to create it, a continual process of cannibalistic degradation until the desired effect has revealed itself.
